I think that all this answers are correct. But for me as potential worker, tourist or shopper the purpose of EU citizenship is eliminating barriers to the mobility of peoples in order to realise the single market. If we'll look at the macroeconomic side the purpose of EU citizenship would be buying support for the EU single market in poor member states by allowing their peoples to move to more advanced welfare states. We as attendees of "Online Course of European Integration: Strategic Communications" must say that the purpose of EU citizenship would be buying support for the EU single market in poor member states and it is realy true. But we just a people who want better life and that is why I choose first answer.

In my opinion, the purpose of EU citizenship is to eliminate the barriers to the mobility of workers, tourists and shoppers in order to realise the single market. But unfortunately, the reality isn't sometimes what we want, and EU citizenship works like a way for people from eastern Europe to go to Western Europe in order to have a job that it's better paid.

I vote for the first answer. But voting for the second has nothing wrong. I choose the first answer because eliminating the barriers for workers, shoppers, tourists offer support for EU from poor member states. They have a new horizon in this single market, lots of goods, jobs, and sights are available. Visiting any country without a passport, buying anything without custom taxes, working inside EU without any special approval is a desirable thing for any new citizen of Europe. Well developed countries gain new workers from new EU members. New members increase GDP with money from citizens who work abroad. If this exchange is too unbalanced, the result is reversible. If a country mainly exports workers without developing inside politics who stop the phenomenon, EU loses all the support. The same thing applies to import countries if the numbers of migrants are too high, natives consider a negative side. So all EU members have something to lose or to gain from any enlargement or shrinking of this organism.

First of all, it’s important to underline that the EU is such kind of confederation, in which every single country has its own system and is absolutely independent. However all members of the EU have one common mentality and strategy. The main target of the EU is to develop an integral single market through a standardised system of laws that apply in all member states in those matters where they have agreed to act as one. Long and not very simple European history shows us the way, which was passed to develop the goals and to do all the best for their achievements. So the main aim of the EU was the economic issue, but it was impossible to achieve it, without building one common European society. That’s why EU citizenship is the most significant background for international market system of the EU ,especially in oder to develop initial goals, within the free movement of people, goods, services and capitals. So the purpose of EU citizenship is to use all benefits of common European society, and in such way to increase the level of European economics and to develop common market .

The EU citizenship has one main purpose to improve the wellfare of every person and gives the opportunity to realize their needs and desires. This goal is achieved in different ways: giving rights to reside and move anywhere in the EU (including family unification), access to election, justice and support, equality for women, the same rules for busines ana trade (shopping anywhere), common educational program (ERAZMUS+), security (common database), data protection and collaboration of the governments in the efissient aspect. To be honest I trully envy the citizens of European Union because they have such many benefits and opportunities. And I hope that Ukraine will join the Union and it`s citizens could also have all of this rights.

EU policies influence both the professional and everyday life of its citizens. In a broad sense, important measures for the citizens in the sphere of employment, vocational training, security at work and public health have their origin in the European social policy. Importantly, by providing a legal basis for a European Citizens’ Initiative right (Art. 11.4 of the Treaty of Lisbon), Europe has become the home of the world’s first tool of transnational, participatory and digital democracy. Still there is some lack of citizenship rights’ awareness about this instrument among citizens, but also among media professionals, which explains why they consistently call on EU institutions and the media to better promote the ECI as a tool for participatory democracy of citizens. Noteworthy, the EU urgently needs new democratic tools to reduce the distance felt by EU citizens from EU institutions and to challenge the rise of populism. Recently, within the framework of the project CARE for the Future of Europe, groups of citizens in Berlin, Rome, Cluj and Budapest have met to discuss how to make Europe a more citizen-led democracy, to be given space to deliberate on the democratic future of the EU in a structured, informed process, and to develop democratic Europe policymaking. It’s a fruitful collaboration between academic and civil society partners: University of Liverpool, WeMove.EU, European Alternatives in Italy, Asociatia Efectul Fluture (de-clic initiative) in Romania, and DemNet in Hungary. “The project has shown that there is a real appetite for ‘doing politics differently’, and that citizens want to participate in the complex questions facing Europe in a balanced and constructive way. Our innovative approach is an excellent new way of providing spaces for flexible, inter-societal engagement in EU policy-making and treaty conventions, in a geographically and culturally diverse polity such as the EU”.

The European Union is the kind of union where all states act as a single organism, but where each state saves its sovereignty and identity. I believe that such steps as citizenship of the European Union are aimed at destroying the borders between nation for the EU's main goal - free movement of people, goods, services and capitals. In my opinion, purpose of EU citizenship is to create mixed European society with a common European law, and with common European rights. Consequently, EU citizenship is one of the steps aimed at forming a new European society that allow the European consciousness to dominate the national consciousness.

The core idea of EU citizenship is the ability to live anywhere within the borders of the Union. Moreover, all the obstacles are eliminated in order to travel, study, work and trade freely. Initially considered as an economic association, the single market is still at the top priorities of the memberstates. On the other hand, when it comes to less developed countries that are not yet in the EU, it is obvious that along with the aim to join single market, their citizens are seeking the possibility to move and jobhunt in more advanced welfare states. If to speak generally about the goal of acquiring the EU citizenship, it is done to get the basic 4 freedoms: the free movement of goods, capital, services and labour. Thus, my choice is #1.

The EU is a kind of confederation in which all countries are independent and have their own sovereignty and national right but at the same time they sacrifice a part of them for the betterment of the state, society and development. The main idea of EU citizenship is that the government gives the opportunity for free movement, workhunt and choice of place of residence. All the consequences are eliminated for the mobility of workers, tourists and shoppers in order to realise the single market and provide the field of living where everyone is in comfort. On the one hand, this vector of development and change establishes the cooperation of the states and conditionally forms them into one whole. That's why the EU act as an one mechanism. On the other hand, all the countries don't control their domestic and foreign policy by itself, they just have to coordinate all their activity that has a bad influence on the national rights and independence. To sum up, such loyal EU policy makes feel all the citizens like at home anywhere in the Union.

Citizenship of the European Union is afforded to qualifying citizens of European Union member states. It came with the 1992 Maastricht Treaty and gave rights' protection for its citizens at home, abroad and online. Opponents say that free borders make easier to move and operate across them for criminals. But previously, authorities estimated that new law according to free borders has improved the coordination between police organizations across Europe and increased the power to fight organized crime. Additionally, the criminal rate has fallen after the authorities has started work strongly together. They established information system (data base) which contains of missing persons, stolen property and people who do not have the right to be in the EU. That goes without saying everybody know about ERASMUS + programme and its widespread sharing in the area of the EU and farther abroad. It gives unspeakeable experience of cross-cultural exchanges for gaining lifelong knowledges and interactive basement for distributing the EU values. But in this context, can we think of propaganda? I think so...
